Why I Booked Four Months Ahead

I had wanted to visit Granada’s Alhambra ever since watching the Korean drama Memories of the Alhambra. For our September 15, 2026 visit, I booked two tickets on May 14—about four months ahead. We needed a morning visit because we were traveling onward that afternoon, so I chose a 9:30 a.m. entry to the Nasrid Palaces. When I checked again around a month before our visit, many convenient time slots were gone and some weekend dates had sold out. If your itinerary depends on a particular time, I recommend booking early.
A Note About the Screenshots

My original booking was for two adults on May 14, 2026. I recreated the booking process in October 2026 with one adult solely to explain each step. The dates, availability, and prices shown in those demonstration screenshots are examples, not my actual September visit. I did not complete a second payment.
Where to Book and Which Ticket to Choose

I chose Alhambra General (Complete Visit), which includes the Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba, Partal, and Generalife. The ticket list in my October 2026 screenshots displayed these options and per-person prices:
- Alhambra General — €22.27 including the displayed fee
- Gardens, Generalife and Alcazaba — €12.73; excludes the Nasrid Palaces
- Dobla de Oro General — €30.48; combines Alhambra admission with selected Albaicín monuments
- Night Visit to Nasrid Palaces — €12.73
- Night Visit to Gardens and Generalife — €8.48
- Dobla de Oro Night — €23.06
- Alhambra Experiences — €22.27; combines a night visit with daytime access on the applicable dates
- Alhambra and Rodríguez Acosta Foundation Combined Tour — €25.45
- Andalusian Monuments — €8.48; for selected monuments in Granada
These are prices displayed when I recreated the booking in October 2026; check the website for current prices and exactly which monuments are included.
Step 1: Select Alhambra General

Choose “Alhambra General — Complete Visit,” click BUY NOW, review the included areas, opening hours, and purchase conditions, then click PURCHASE TICKETS.
Step 2: Complete the Security and Email Checks

Complete the “I’m not a robot” check and select Validate. Enter your email address, click Send, and follow the email verification instructions. The checkout displays a countdown timer, so have your details ready.
Step 3: Choose a Date

Use the calendar to choose your visit date. The legend marks unavailable dates in red, available dates in green, and dates with the last remaining tickets in yellow. Availability changes constantly. In my experience, popular morning slots and weekends can sell out well ahead of time.
Step 4: Choose the Number of Visitors

Select the number of tickets with the plus button next to Adult or another eligible category. The page also offers age-based and concession tickets; check eligibility and documentation before selecting a discount. In my demonstration, one adult was shown as €21.00 plus a €1.27 booking commission, totaling €22.27. Click Next.
Step 5: Select Your Nasrid Palaces Entry Time

Important: Your Nasrid Palaces time is not a general entry time for the entire complex. It is the specific time you must enter the Nasrid Palaces. The other included areas can be visited during their applicable opening hours. The booking screen recommends arriving at the monument complex at least an hour before your chosen Nasrid Palaces slot. We arrived around 8:20 a.m. for our 9:30 a.m. reservation.
Step 6: Enter Buyer and Visitor Details

Next, complete the actual visitor details. If the buyer is also attending, the Buyer as visitor checkbox can help copy the relevant information. For each visitor, check Name, Surname, Identity document, Document number, Country (South Korea for Korean passport holders), and Province/region where required. Names and passport numbers must match the original documents you will bring. The optional Excel import is designed for entering multiple visitors. Accept the privacy and purchase policies and click Go to step 4.
Step 7: Pay by Card

Select GO TO PAYMENT to open the secure card payment page. Enter your card number, expiry date, and CVV, then select Pay. Double-check your visit date, Nasrid Palaces time, ticket count, and visitor details before paying. My October screenshots illustrate this step; I did not make another purchase.
Step 8: Find Your Confirmation Email and Tickets
After my actual purchase on May 14, I received an email titled Confirmation from the official ticket service, with ticket attachments in PDF and Passbook formats. Save your tickets somewhere accessible offline. My ticket showed September 15, 2026 and a 9:30 a.m. Nasrid Palaces admission. The later demonstration showed €22.27 for one adult; the original two-person confirmation was a separate transaction and should not be confused with that example.
Important Tips Before You Visit

- Check ticket inclusions: not every ticket includes the Nasrid Palaces.
- Review the purchase policy: the booking page warns that changes and refunds are not accepted under its stated conditions.
- Check opening hours and prices again before traveling, as they can change.

Final Thoughts

Booking directly through the official website was manageable once I understood the different ticket types and the separate Nasrid Palaces entry time. Reserving four months in advance let us choose the morning slot that worked for our itinerary. For me, seeing the Alhambra in person after dreaming about it since the TV drama made the planning worthwhile. I’ll share more from our actual visit in a separate travel story.
