Grilled pork belly at Jeil Ogyeopsal in Songdo

Looking for Korean BBQ near Triple Street in Songdo, Incheon? Jeil Ogyeopsal is a pork barbecue restaurant where staff grill thick-cut pork at your table. We visited at around 7:40 p.m. and were seated almost immediately after a table was cleared.

Why We Visited Jeil Ogyeopsal

I had wanted to try this place ever since a coworker recommended it for a team dinner. That dinner never happened, so I finally came back with my husband. The restaurant was lively and busy, but we did not face a long queue on our visit.

Menu, Prices and What We Ordered

Menu and prices

The meat menu was surprisingly focused: Jeju antibiotic-free pork belly (ogyeopsal) and a limited-quantity shoulder rack. The shoulder rack was already sold out when we arrived. The menu we photographed listed the pork at KRW 17,000 per 160 g serving and seafood doenjang jjigae with rice at KRW 8,000. Prices are from our visit and may change.

We started with two servings of pork, a seafood soybean paste stew and soju. We also tried the steamed egg and a pork skin item offered through a receipt-review promotion. Check the restaurant’s current promotion terms rather than assuming the free item is always available.

Staff-Grilled Korean Pork Belly

Pork on the grill

One unusual detail was the teamwork. Rather than one employee looking after the grill, different staff members seemed to pass by in sequence, flipping or checking the meat before the next person continued. It felt a little surprising at first, but the frequent attention worked: our thick-cut pork was beautifully grilled.

The pork was the highlight: browned on the outside, juicy inside, and genuinely worth the visit. Staff also suggested ways to enjoy each bite, including combinations with rice, kimchi, greens and condiments. My favorite was the pork topped with garlic, which balanced its richness particularly well.

Seafood Doenjang Jjigae and Side Dishes

Seafood soybean paste stew

The seafood soybean paste stew was another standout. It was deeply savory, spicy and comforting, with seafood and tofu in the bubbling pot. My husband is quite selective about food, but he enjoyed this stew so much that it almost became the main event. If you like a hearty Korean stew alongside barbecue, I would recommend trying it.

Was the Pork Skin Worth Trying?

Grilled pork belly

We received pork skin after taking part in the receipt-review event. It was pressed on the grill and turned out very soft, almost like the collagen-rich part of jokbal (braised pig’s feet), rather than the intensely chewy pork skin I expected. It was okay, but not my favorite. Those looking for a springy, chewy texture might be disappointed.

Is Jeil Ogyeopsal Worth Visiting?

Yes—especially if you want Korean barbecue in Songdo without having to cook the meat yourself. The attentive grilling, thick and flavorful pork, suggested combinations and spicy stew made this a meal I was glad we finally tried. I would return to try the shoulder rack, ideally earlier in the evening before it sells out.
