La Brunilda Seville Review: Octopus, Duck Confit & Steak

Grilled steak with vegetables at La Brunilda in Seville

Is La Brunilda worth visiting in Seville? We found this popular tapas restaurant while browsing Google Maps and stopped in for grilled octopus, duck confit, and steak. The food was a highlight—especially the steak—but our experience with one staff member was disappointing. Here is our balanced, firsthand review.

Finding La Brunilda in Seville

La Brunilda is a tapas restaurant on Calle Galera in central Seville, Spain. We chose it after reading favorable Google Maps reviews. We wanted to try pulpo (octopus) and duck confit, and decided to add steak because we were craving meat too.

What We Ordered and Paid

Our receipt from September 13, 2026 lists three food dishes: Parrillada de Pulpo (€12.50), Confit de Pato (€8.90), and Solomillo de Ternera (€13.00). We also ordered two beers (€7.00 total) and two glasses of red wine (€8.40 total). The final bill was €49.80, including tax. These are historical prices from our visit, not a current menu quote.

Grilled Octopus: Parrillada de Pulpo

The octopus came on a long white plate alongside roasted vegetables and sauce. The colorful presentation made this a memorable tapas dish, and it was one of the reasons we chose the restaurant.

Duck Confit: Confit de Pato

The duck confit was served with colorful purées and vegetables. We had specifically come to try this dish, and enjoyed the meal overall.

Our Favorite Dish: Solomillo de Ternera

The steak turned out to be the standout dish of the entire meal. Although we originally came for octopus and duck, the beef was so delicious that it became the dish we remembered most. If you enjoy steak, this would be my first pick from what we tried.

Drinks and Atmosphere

We enjoyed red wine with our tapas. The restaurant had a casual dining atmosphere, with other guests seated nearby.

The Disappointing Part: Service

Although we enjoyed the food, our interaction with one staff member left a negative impression. I had trouble understanding their pronunciation, and instead of explaining more clearly, they made a gesture that felt impatient and dismissive. It put a damper on the experience, and we ended up taking fewer photos than usual.

This describes our experience with one employee during one visit; it does not mean every member of the team provides the same service.

Final Verdict: Is La Brunilda Worth It?

For us, the answer is mixed but mostly positive on food. The steak was genuinely excellent, and we were glad to try the octopus and duck confit. However, the unfriendly interaction made the visit less enjoyable than it could have been. If food matters most to you, La Brunilda is worth considering for a tapas meal in Seville, but service experiences may vary.
