Looking for brunch near Madrid Atocha station? Aceituna Dulce is a small café roughly 550 meters, or about a 10-minute walk, from the station. We stopped here for avocado toast, a ham and cheese croissant, and coffee before our train to Seville.

Location and atmosphere
Aceituna Dulce is at Calle Tortosa 4, Madrid. After our meal, we walked to Atocha with our luggage. Allow enough time for both the walk and station procedures before your train.
The café is compact, with wooden tables, pendant lights and plants. It was relatively quiet when we visited, though travelers with large suitcases should keep the limited space in mind.

What we ordered and paid
During our visit, the ham and cheese croissant was €5.50, avocado and cream cheese toast €7.00, iced Americano €2.70, and café con leche €2.60. Our total was €17.80 for two people. These are the prices recorded for our visit; menus and prices may change. We paid by card.
Avocado and cream cheese toast
The tosta con queso crema, aguacate y rábano came with cream cheese, avocado, thinly sliced radish and greens on sourdough. The avocado was creamy and rich, and the crisp, slightly tangy radish balanced it nicely.
The seasoning around the edge of the plate tasted quite salty when the bread touched it. The sourdough was also tough to cut, so it took a little effort to eat.
Ham and cheese croissant

My husband ordered the warm ham and cheese croissant with an iced Americano. The melted cheese tasted rich and nutty. The croissant was a little oily and filling, but we enjoyed it with the coffee.
Coffee before the train

I chose café con leche, a Spanish coffee made with milk. Its smooth, nutty flavor made it a pleasant match for brunch.
Is Aceituna Dulce worth visiting?
For us, the short walk to Atocha made this a convenient stop before traveling to Seville. The café was comfortable and the food was enjoyable, although the toast was difficult to cut and the seasoning was salty. Check current opening hours before visiting, and leave plenty of time to reach your train.
